Description: Yeast-secreted 19 kDa recombinant protein containing the carboxy terminus of MSP1 from P. falciparum fused to P30P2. Protein size: 19 kDa Protein function: antigen Tissue/cellular location: merozoite surface Gene coding for protein: P30P2 MSP1-19 Purification methods: microfiltration, tangential utrafiltration diafiltration, NI-NTA purification, size-exclusion chromatography (Superdex 75) Quality control methods: SDS-PAGE Additional information: The protein is secreted and recoverable from the culture supernatant. The protein is expressed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain VK1 as a recombinant protein using the pIXY154 expression plasmid. The MSP1-19 fragment consists of Asn1631 to Ser1723 as a PCR amplified product from the FVO strain with a His6 tag.
