Comments:	Quantity limit per order for this item is 3. This item can be ordered twice a year. Orders over this limit will be sent to NIAID for approval before shipment. H5 hemagglutinin (HA) protein from influenza virus A/duck/Laos/3295/2006 is a full-length glycosylated recombinant protein that was produced in Sf9 insect cells using a baculovirus expression vector system. Recombinant H5 HA protein was purified using conventional chromatographic methods. Note: The contributor recommends that this protein be kept in solution and stored at 2°C to 4°C. However, NR-13509 was inadvertently lyophilized and frozen at -20°C. The product was tested after reconstitution in 0.5 mL of sterile distilled water at 4°C for 18 hours. NR-13509 maintained its reactivity in HA and HI assays as well as its stability by SDS-PAGE. The optimal long-term storage conditions after lyophilization and reconstitution have not been determined. Each vial contains approximately 550 µg (lyophilized) of purified recombinant H5 HA protein. When reconstituted with 0.5 mL of sterile distilled water, the product will be in PBS (pH 7.2).
