Comments:	Quantity limit per year for this item is 3000 snails. Orders over this limit will be sent to NIAID for approval before shipment. The Biomphalaria glabrata (B. glabrata), strain NMRI snail host is an albino snail that is highly susceptible to the NMRI strain of Schistosoma mansoni. It was derived from a cross between pigmented Puerto Rican (susceptible) snails and Newton's M-line snails. NR-21970 consists of up to 100 B. glabrata, strain NMRI in a Petri dish. Depending on the species requested, orders can usually be filled between 1-3 weeks. Shipments of snails ordered through BEI Resources will be shipped by Biomedical Research Institute in Rockville, MD.
