Quantity limit per year for this item is 250 mice. Orders over this limit will be sent to NIAID for approval before shipment.

The Philippine strain of Schistosoma japonicum (S. japonicum) was isolated from Leyte, Philippines in 1969.

NR-34794 consists of female Swiss-Webster mice obtained from Taconic or Charles River Laboratory and exposed to the Philippine strain of S. japonicum.Depending on the species requested, orders can usually be filled between 2-4 weeks. This delay on new orders is due to a required quarantine from the date of receipt from the vendor and the exposure of the animals to cercariae. Please plan in advance when ordering mice or hamsters. Authorization from an institution's animal care and use committee is usually required for these animals to be accepted into a facility.

Shipments of mice and hamsters ordered through BEI Resources will be shipped by Biomedical Research Institute in Rockville, MD. BRI maintains an AAALAC accredited facility, and can supply you or your veterinarian with information on our sentinel animal program and the latest health reports. A copy of the commercial supplier's health reports for the infected animals is included in the shipment. If the address of your animal facility is different from that of your lab, please contact us at contact@beiresources.org to set up the appropriate shipping destination.

To set up a standing recurring order of snails or mice, please use the form linked here: Schistosome Standing Order Reagent Request Form. The form can be submitted via email to contact@beiresources.org.
