Comments:	Quantity limit per order for this item is 5. This item can be ordered twice a year. Orders over this limit will be sent to NIAID for approval before shipment. Antiserum to the H5 hemagglutinin (HA) from influenza virus A/Hong Kong/156/1997 (H5N1) and influenza virus A/Hong Kong/483/1997 (H5N1) was produced by immunization of sheep with the recombinant proteins. NR-665 is specific to the H5 HA subtype of influenza virus as determined in serological hemagglutination inhibition (HI) assays, except for minor cross-reactivity with one H3 HA virus (A/New York/55/2004). This antiserum was raised against two H5 HA proteins and demonstrates broad reactivity within the H5 HA subtype with viruses representing both American and Eurasian lineages based on HI and ELISA assays. Each vial contains lyophilized (0.5 mL) sheep polyclonal antiserum to the H5 HA from influenza virus A/Hong Kong/156/1997 (H5N1) and influenza virus A/Hong Kong/483/1997 (H5N1) . NR-665 should be reconstituted with 0.5 mL of sterile distilled water. Note: Reconstitution with PBS (per the vial label) will result in excess salt.
