Entamoeba histolytica (E. histolytica), HK-9 was isolated from proctoscopic material of a Korean male with amoebic dysentery in 1951.

E. histolytica, HK-9 was deposited to the ATCC ® in 1968 by Dr. Louis S. Diamond, Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases, NIAID, NIH.

Each vial of NR-175 contains approximately 0.5 mL of culture in cryopreservative.
