Burkholderia mallei (B. mallei)
, strain China 5 (MM-A, NBL 4, ATCC ® 10399) was isolated from the lung and nose of an infected horse in Kweiyang, China, 1942.
B. mallei
is a non-motile, aerobic, Gram-negative coccobacillus that produces an extracellular capsule, which is an important virulence determinant.
Each vial contains approximately 1 mL of bacterial culture in Tryptic Soy Broth supplemented with 10% glycerol.
Note: If homogeneity is required for your intended use, please purify prior to initiating work.
