Burkholderia mallei (B. mallei), strain China 7 was deposited at the ATCC ® in 1967 by George A. Hottle of the Naval Biological Laboratory, University of California at Berkeley (ATCC ® 23344™). NR-23 was produced directly from ATCC ® 23344™. Genome variability upon passage has been reported to be a feature of B. mallei, strain China 7 (ATCC ® 23344™). A preparation of B. mallei, strain China 7 derived from ATCC ® 23344™ via several passages by different individuals prior to its deposit at BEI Resources is available as BEI resources NR-4071.

The genome sequence B. mallei, strain ATCC ® 23344™ has been completed (GenBank: CP000010 and CP000011).

Each vial contains approximately 1 mL of bacterial culture in Tryptic Soy Broth supplemented with 10% glycerol.

Note: If homogeneity is required for your intended use, please purify prior to initiating work.
