The murine macrophage cell line, NR-9568, was derived using primary bone marrow cells from TRIF (toll-interleukin-1 receptor-domain-containing-adaptor-inducing interferon-β)/TRAM (TRIF-related adaptor molecule) knockout mice in a C56BI6/J background. The primary bone marrow cells were immortalized by infection with the ecotropic transforming replication-deficient retrovirus J2 using techniques described in the literature. Characterization based on immunofluorescence, stimulation assays and flow cytometry demonstrated that the immortalized cell line retains its macrophage-specific morphological, functional and surface expression properties.

Each vial contains approximately 1 mL of cell culture suspension frozen in cell growth medium (90%) and DMSO (10%) cryo-preservatant. Sufficient cells are provided to initiate at least one new culture.
Store At: -100°C or colder, preferably in the vapor phase of a liquid nitrogen freezer
