New Study on Malaria Drug Susceptibility

The emergence and spread of resistance to front-line antimalarials is a major impediment to malaria control. BEI Resources provides drug-resistant and sensitive reference strains, which are critical for screening candidate antimalarials, conducting basic research, and for resistance surveillance and management. Recently, BEI Resources published an article in the journal Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy that highlights the drug susceptibility profiles of over one hundred malaria isolates available in the BEI Resources catalog. This study offers valuable information to assist current and prospective users of BEI Resources in making data-driven requests for isolates to meet their research needs.
