Coming Soon: Streptococcus agalactiae A909 Single-Gene Deletion Library
BEI Resources is excited to announce the release of a comprehensive single-gene deletion library of Streptococcus agalactiae strain A909 (Group B Streptococcus). This resource consists of individual mutants generated via transposon insertions, arrayed in a convenient 96-well plate format for high-throughput screening.
Group B Streptococcus (GBS) is a leading cause of neonatal sepsis, meningitis, and pneumonia, as well as invasive infections in immunocompromised adults. Despite its clinical significance, functional genomics tools for GBS have been limited until now.
This deletion library enables researchers to:
- Systematically interrogate gene function across the GBS genome.
- Identify virulence factors, metabolic pathways, and antibiotic resistance mechanisms.
- Accelerate vaccine and therapeutic target discovery by pinpointing essential and conditionally essential genes.
- Perform high-throughput phenotypic screens to uncover novel host-pathogen interactions.

The Streptococcus agalactiae A909 Single-Gene Deletion Library consists of 21 96-well plates and will be available as NR-59477.
