BSL 2 Reporter Virus Particles for Vaccine & Antiviral Research

Reporter virus particles (RVPs) are non replicative, virus like particles engineered to display the authentic surface (envelope) proteins of pathogenic viruses while carrying a modified genome that cannot replicate. They are antigenically equivalent to live virus at the level of viral entry but are replication incompetent and safe to use at BSL 2, eliminating the need for high containment facilities or propagation of infectious virus. RVPs are optimized for infectivity and neutralization assays, including high throughput formats, and typically use Renilla luciferase (RLuc) or Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) reporters for quantitative readouts. Built on established core systems such as lentivirus, VSV, or virus specific flavivirus platforms, RVPs provide a reliable, ready to use surrogate for closely modeling biologically relevant viral entry behavior. More information can be found here.

BEI Resources is now offering a variety of contemporary reporter virus particles to support in vaccine, antibody, and antiviral research into these high consequence pathogens.
