ARP-1119 is a human T-cell line, HUT 78, infected with human immunodeficiency virus 2 (HIV-2) that produces high levels of particle-associated RT. HUT 78 is a mature human cutaneous T-cell lymphoma derived from the peripheral blood of a patient with Sezary syndrome.
ARP-1119 was derived from HIV-2 D194-infectedHUT 78 cells co-cultivated with HUT 78 cells for five weeks, fed with uninfected HUT 78 cells (1:2 infected:uninfected cells), and cells and virus isolated at 3 to 4 day intervals to obtain this lot of infected cells. The virus has been grown in human mononuclear cells and U937 cells. Virus has been isolated from PBLs by coculture with human umbilical cord blood lymphocytes. It shows marked tropism for monocytes/macrophages and also stably infects U937.
Growth Characteristics: ARP-1119 is an cute lymphoblastic leukemia cell and may form syncytia
Propagation Medium: RPMI 1640 supplemented with 15% fetal bovine serum, 100 U per mL penicillin and 100 µg per mL streptomycin
ARP-1119 is negative for Mycoplasma, bacteria and fungi. Each vial of ARP-1119 contains approximately 5 x 106 cells in RPMI 1640 supplemented 50% fetal bovine serum and 10% dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). Please refer to the appropriate data sheet for lot-specific information.
