ARP-458 is a variant of human T-lymphoblastoid cell line CEM that is resistant to NK cell-mediated lysis. It is CD4+ and can be infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
Growth Characteristics: ARP-458 grows in single-cell suspension with a doubling time of 24 hours. Cultures should be maintained at 0.5 × 106 and 2 × 106 cells per mL.
Growth Medium: Iscove's Modification of Dulbecco's Minimal Essential medium (DMEM) supplemented with 5% fetal bovine serum or RPMI 1640 medium supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum
ARP-458 is negative for Mycoplasma, bacteria and fungi.
Each vial of ARP-458 contains approximately 5 × 106 cells in fetal bovine serum containing 10% dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO).
