Total RNA was extracted from the Waranya isolate of Oncomelania hupensis (O. hupensis) subsp. nosophora, Japanese strain. The Waranya isolate is a small freshwater snail that was obtained in 1968 in Kofu, Japan. Both the Waranya and Hosaka isolates are essentially from the same location and do not differ in parasite susceptibility. O. hupensis subsp. nosophora, Japanese strain, is an intermediate host of Schistosoma japonicum, a species of trematode worm which causes the chronic parasitic disease Schistosomiasis.

Each vial of NR-42580 contains 1 µg to 50 µg of RNA in DNase/RNase-free distilled water.
