Yeast-secreted recombinant 19 kDa C-terminal region of the merozoite surface protein 1 (MSP1) from Plasmodium vivax (P. vivax), strain Sal I. The protein is secreted and recoverable from the culture supernatant. The C-terminus of the 19 kDa fragment from P. vivax, strain Sal I was expressed as a recombinant protein in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, strain 2905/6 clone 1.1 using expression vector pIXY154. P30P2 was used as a fusion protein with Pv200MSP1-19. The Pv200MSP1-19 protein domain includes Leu1639 through Ser1728, and contains a carboxy-terminal His6 tag. The protein was purified using microfiltration, tangential ultrafiltration diafiltration, and size-exclusion chromatography (Superdex 75).
