Escherichia coli (E. coli), strain BDMS 770 was isolated in 1994 from human feces in Maryland, U.S.A.

E. coli, strain BDMS 770 was deposited at ATCC ® in 1998 by Becton Dickinson Microbiology Systems, Cockeysville, Maryland.

The presence of plasmid pO157 (~ 3200 bp amplicon) and chromosomal virulence markers stx1, stx2 and eaeA (~ 349 bp, 404 bp and 526 bp amplicons, respectively) have been confirmed by PCR amplification from extracted DNA.

Each vial contains approximately 0.5 mL of bacterial culture in 0.5X Tryptic Soy Broth supplemented with 10% glycerol.
