NR-446 is no longer available. Alphacoronavirus 1, Purdue P115 (attenuated) is now available as NR-43285. The International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) created a new genus, Alphacoronavirus, and a new species, Alphacoronavirus 1, to accommodate previously established Alphacoronavirus species of swine, cats and dogs (TGEV, FCOV, CCOV) in 2009.

Porcine transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV), Purdue was isolated from the small intestinal contents of a young pig with diarrhea, vomiting, and dehydration.

The virus was propagated in primary porcine kidney cells for 115 passages and then in swine testicular (ST) cells for more than 6 passages. Porcine TGEV is sensitive to ultraviolet light, high temperature and strong mechanical agitation.

Each vial contains approximately 1 mL of cell lysate and supernatant from ST cells infected with the Purdue (attenuated) strain of porcine TGEV.

Note: If homogeneity is required for your intended use, please purify prior to initiating work.

Additional information and tools are available at ViPR (Virus Pathogen Resource).
