TRVL 4675 is a prototype strain of Mayaro virus (MAYV). It was isolated from the serum of a human in Mayaro County, Trinidad on August 23, 1954, and contributed to WRCEVA by the Yale Arbovirus Research Unit, Rockefeller Funded Collection, Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut, USA.

MAYV, TRVL 4675 is a D genotype virus. Removal of contaminating mycoplasma required three additional virus passages at BEI Resources in the presence of Mycoplasma Removal Reagent (MRA).

Each vial contains approximately 1 mL of cell lysate and supernatant from Cercopithecus aethiops kidney epithelial cells infected with MAYV, TRVL 4675.

Additional information and tools are available at ViPR (Virus Pathogen Resource).
