Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), strain A950206 (also referred to as NRS188) was isolated in 1995 from pus associated with osteitis and/or osteomyelitis of a 42-year-old male in France.

S. aureus, strain A950206 is an exotoxin-producing, methicillin-sensitive S. aureus (MSSA) strain. S. aureus, strain A950206 was deposited as negative for mec; positive for the enterotoxin gene cluster (egc) operon, staphylococcal enterotoxins genes sed and sej, the hemolysin genes hla, hlb, hld and hlgv and the leukocidin genes lukE and lukD; MLST sequencing type (ST) 1447; eGenomic spa type 903, eGenomic spa repeats UMDMGMK; Ridom spa type t6709; agr group II.

Each vial contains approximately 0.5 mL of bacterial culture in Tryptic Soy broth supplemented with 10% glycerol.
