The murine hybridoma cell line, 2F2, was generated by the fusion of NS1 myeloma cells with splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with sporozoites derived from Anopheles mosquitoes infected with Plasmodium vivax (P. vivax) of Southeast Asian origin (Indo I/CDC, Ong/CDC, and New Guinea/CDC strains). The monoclonal antibody produced is specific for P. vivax (classical-210) sporozoites, and recognizes P. vivax circumsporozoite protein (CSP) repeats (DRAD/AGQPAG).

Each vial contains approximately 1 mL of hybridoma cells in cell culture medium supplemented with 10% dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO). Sufficient cells are provided to initiate at least one new culture.

Hybridoma 2F2 is reported to produce monoclonal antibody of the IgG2bκ subclass, specific for P. vivax CSP repeats (DRAD/AGQPAG), and function in ELISA, immuno-fluorescence, electron microscopy, immunoprecipitation and immunoblot assays.
