Genomic DNA was extracted from a preparation of Pseudopropionibacterium propionicum, Oral Taxon 739, strain F0230 (Previously referred to as Propionibacterium propionicum, this genus has been reclassified).

Note: The genus designation on the vial label is incorrect; the correct genus designation is Pseudopropionibacterium propionicum, strain F0230.

Pseudopropionibacterium propionicum (P. propionicum), Oral Taxon 739, strain F0230 (also referred to as F0230a) was isolated from a human oral cavity. P. propionicum, Oral Taxon 739, strain F0230 (HMP ID 9154) is a reference genome for The Human Microbiome Project (HMP). HMP is an initiative to identify and characterize human microbial flora. The complete genome of P. propionicum, strain F0230 was sequenced at the J. Craig Venter Institute (GenBank: CP002734).

HM-209D has been qualified for PCR applications by amplification of approximately 1500 base pairs of the 16S ribosomal RNA gene.

Each vial contains 0.7 to 1.5 µg of bacterial genomic DNA in TE buffer (10 mM Tris-HCl and 1 mM EDTA, pH ~ 8.0). The concentration is shown on the Certificate of Analysis. The vial should be centrifuged prior to opening.
