ARP-4787 contains the 3' long terminal repeat (LTR; nt -147 to +63 relative to the transcription start site) region from an HIV-1 subtype A patient isolate upstream of the luciferase gene. The LTR was shown to be functional using the subtype B LAI tat protein.
The LTR region from a subtype A patient isolate was PCR-amplified and exchanged into pBlue3'LTR-luc-B (BEI Resources ARP-4788) in place of the LAI LTR. It contains two NF-kB enhancers, three Sp1 binding sites, the TATA box, and the TAR TNA hairpin motif.
ARP-4787 was cloned in pBluescript KS(+) and is 5721 base pairs and ampicillin resistant. It is also referred to as pBlue3'LTR-luc-A. For additional details please refer to the sequence file.
