Mycobacterium tuberculosis, M. bovis, and M. canetti products are derived from strain-specific cultures and are identified by unique product numbers. M. leprae are derived from infected armadillo liver and spleen tissue due to their inability to be cultured in vitro. M. leprae irradiated cells and genomic DNA are strain-specific and identified by unique product numbers. All other M. leprae products are pooled from up to three different strains, all of which are detailed on the lot-specific Certificates of Analysis.
