How are virus strains authenticated?
Molecular authentication of our virus stocks is done by Polymerase Chain Reaction and sequencing of key genes. The resulting sequence is compared to the NCBI nucleotide sequence database and homology is compared for all strains. A virus must have ≥96% homology to the expected strain to be authenticated as that strain.
